From Ruins to Renewal:
A Final Call for Resistance, Reform, & Reconstruction
Written by Jon Serrano
About My Book
The system wasn't designed to catch you- this book proves it.
From Ruins to Renewal exposes the hidden mechanisms of power, wealth, and control shaping modern America; revealing how capitalism, politics, and cultural systems keep us divided and exhausted. As trust in institutions collapses, millions of Americans are searching for language to explain what they are living through. This book meets that moment: not with nostalgia or recycled talking points, but with clarity, moral urgency, and a blueprint for what comes next.
" I didn't become political when I started reading, I became political when I started living."

Part philosophy, part manifesto, part call-to-action, From Ruins to Renewal challenges readers to see beyond the illusions of the American political system, reclaim their agency, and imagine a society built on justice, solidarity, and human dignity. If you've ever felt like the game was rigged, consider this the proof- and the path forward.
Written from lived experience, not a think tank.
Growing up working class in Garfield, New Jersey, I've felt failed by school systems that were not built for my mind, survived trauma the system ignored, and gained just as many mental health issues as the next individual in my generation due to the current state of our world. Through all this, I had it in me to run for Congress, searching for answers politics couldn't provide. This book is what I found after my first run.
Written not as a career move or an academic exercise, but out of personal frustration, urgency, and self-declared responsibility; because the consequences of silence are no longer theoretical.

My campaign is this book in action.
Everything I am fighting for in Congress- economic justice, democratic reform, housing, labor rights, environmental survival- is laid out in these pages. I didn't write this book so sell a campaign. I wrote it because I needed to be honest, in public, about what I actually believe. My campaign came after. Reading it is the fastest way to understand exactly who I am and what kind of representative I will be for NJ's 11th District.
